A Beer Lover's Journey Through India's Brewing Capital
What's that unmistakable sound of happiness echoing through the bustling streets of Gurgaon's tech corridors? It's the gentle fizz of freshly poured craft beer meeting glass, accompanied by the satisfied sighs of office workers unwinding after another demanding day in India's millennium city. The aroma of toasted malt mingles with the spicy fragrance of tandoori kebabs wafting from nearby kitchens, while the warm glow of pendant lights illuminates animated conversations between friends discovering their new favourite IPA.

If you've been wondering where to find the best microbreweries in Gurgaon (also known as Gurugram), you've just struck gold. As someone who's spent countless evenings exploring every corner of this sprawling metropolis—from the gleaming towers of CyberHub to the residential enclaves of Sector 47—I can tell you that this city has quietly become one of India's most exciting craft beer destinations. And I'm not talking about a few scattered pubs here and there; I'm talking about entire sectors that have transformed into beer lover's paradises, with some areas boasting over 20 brewpubs within walking distance of each other.

I've structured this guide around Gurgaon's key sectors and neighbourhoods, each offering its own distinct brewing personality. Whether you're an independent traveller with a few hours to kill between flights at nearby IGI Airport, a digital nomad based in the city's co-working spaces, or simply someone who appreciates a perfectly crafted pint, this comprehensive guide will take you on a neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood journey through many of the city's most impressive beer destinations. Every recommendation comes from my personal experience—these aren't just places I've heard about, but venues where I've actually sat, sipped, and savoured.
Don’t forget that Tailor-Made Itineraries delights in creating bespoke self-guided tours. So, if visiting any of these microbreweries in Gurgaon appeals to you, reach out to me by email. I would be more than happy to design a self-guided tour around your requirements incorporating the best breweries in Gurgaon or indeed, a general tour of India.

The Brewing Revolution in India
India's relationship with beer spans centuries, but the craft brewing renaissance is relatively recent. The country's brewing heritage dates back to British colonial times, when India Pale Ale (IPA) was specifically developed to survive the long sea journey from Britain to India. The higher hop content and alcohol levels that defined IPA weren't just stylistic choices—they were practical necessities that helped preserve the beer during months at sea in tropical conditions.

Fast-forward to today, and India has come full circle. The craft beer movement, which began gaining momentum in the early 2010s, has transformed cities like Gurgaon into brewing hotspots. The rise of microbreweries and brewpubs reflects a broader cultural shift among India's growing middle class, particularly in tech hubs like Gurgaon, where young professionals seek authentic, artisanal experiences over mass-produced alternatives.

Gurgaon's emergence as a craft beer destination isn't accidental. The city's cosmopolitan workforce, relatively liberal licensing policies, and concentration of disposable income have created the perfect storm for brewing innovation. Today, you'll find everything from traditional German-style hefeweizens to experimental seasonal brews infused with local ingredients like curry leaves and jaggery.

Microbreweries in Gurgaon
Cyber Hub
Drunken Botanist
The Drunken Botanist is a brewpub that blends botanical whimsy with a modern craft beer experience. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by lush greenery, quirky décor, and a lively atmosphere that feels equal parts garden party and urban escape. The space is expansive yet cosy and was buzzing with energy during my visit.

But the real star here is the beer. The Drunken Botanist brews its own craft selections, offering a rotating menu of fresh, flavourful options that cater to both casual drinkers and beer aficionados. Whether you're sipping a crisp lager on a warm evening or diving into a richer, malt-forward brew, each pint reflects a thoughtful brewing process and a commitment to quality.

Quaff Brewing Co.
Quaff Brewing Co. is a standout destination for craft beer lovers seeking quality and character in every pour. With a name that celebrates the joy of drinking, Quaff lives up to its reputation by offering a diverse and meticulously brewed selection of beers. From crisp lagers and hop-forward IPAs to rich stouts and experimental seasonal brews, each beer is crafted with precision and passion using high-quality ingredients.

The ambiance at Quaff is equally inviting—modern yet warm, with a layout that suits both lively gatherings and laid-back solo visits. The staff are well-versed in the beer menu and happy to guide you through a tasting journey. I was also lucky enough to be offered an impromptu quick tour of their brewing area, which was a nice touch and a great demonstration of their excellent customer service.
Bira 91 Taproom DLF Cyberhub
Bira 91 Taproom at DLF CyberHub is a flagship venue for one of India's most recognizable craft beer brands. As part of a growing chain, Bira 91 has made a name for itself with its bold branding and approachable beer styles, ranging from the crisp Bira Blonde to the hoppy Bira Double IPA. While their beers are widely available in bottles and cans across India, the taproom experience offers something more immersive—freshly brewed beer served straight from the source, often including experimental or limited-edition batches not found elsewhere.

The Cyber Hub location is particularly impressive. With a stylish, laid-back vibe and a spacious layout, it's perfect for both casual meetups and lively evenings. The food menu complements the beer selection well—think mezze platters, pizzas, and North Indian favourites.
Tailor-Made Top Tip:
There are a number of other great bars located within Cyber Hub, such as the Beer Café, Cyber Hub Social, and the Café & Bar, making Cyber Hub a perfect location to go bar hopping on foot.
Sector 29
Sector 29 in Gurgaon is an amazing playground for beer enthusiasts, boasting what must be the highest concentrations of microbreweries in the region. I counted at least 20 of them – a perfect place for a pub crawl! From rustic microbreweries to sleek, modern taprooms, the area offers a wide spectrum of craft beer experiences. Each venue has its own personality, but the common thread is the freshness of the beer: most of these brewpubs serve beer brewed either on-site or at nearby facilities, ensuring that every pint is as crisp and flavourful as it should be.
Toy Box
I only had time to sample the beer from one of these pubs, Toy Box, and found that it was vibrant and eclectic, doubling as a nightclub. While the venue leans heavily into its nightlife identity—with DJs, live music, and a dynamic lighting setup—it also offers a solid selection of house-brewed beers. The pint I tried was fresh and well-balanced. Toy Box may not be the quietest spot for a contemplative beer tasting, but if you're looking to enjoy craft beer in a high-energy setting, it delivers a memorable experience.

Tailor-Made Top Tip:
Toy Box is located on the second floor of Plot No. 16 & 17.
Vatika Business Park, Sector 49
Tuckinn Fresh Beer Café
Tuckinn Fresh Beer Café offers a refreshing change of pace from the more boisterous microbrewery hubs of Gurgaon. This venue blends a relaxed, lounge-style atmosphere with a strong focus on freshly brewed beer and a diverse food menu. I found that the ambiance was sophisticated yet welcoming, and enjoyed sitting outside, doing a little bit of people watching.

The tasty sampler could have been paired beautifully with their selection of sizzlers and kebabs, but I decided just to stick to the beer. Tuckinn's menu spans North Indian, Continental, Asian, and Mughlai cuisines, making it a great spot for foodies as well as beer lovers. Tuckinn is a hidden gem for those looking to enjoy craft beer in a more laid-back, residential setting.
Open Tap
Just a short walk from Tuckinn was Open Tap, one of Gurgaon’s most beloved chains of brewpubs. Open Tap has a reputation for its consistent quality, vibrant ambiance, and a strong focus on freshly brewed beer, and it didn't disappoint.

The Vatika City location offers a slightly more relaxed vibe compared to its Sector 29 counterpart. It features an expansive patio and lounge-style indoor seating, making it ideal for both daytime brunches and late-night hangouts (open until 1 AM). The beer here is brewed on-site, and the pint I tried was crisp and refreshing—a perfect complement to their tempting food menu. With live music, DJ nights, and even open mic events, this venue blends the charm of a neighbourhood pub with the energy of a city hotspot.
Vapour Bar Exchange
Vapour Bar Exchange, located opposite both Tuckinn and Open Tap, is part of a well-known chain of brewpubs that blends craft beer with a unique pricing concept. Inspired by stock market dynamics, the bar's prices fluctuate based on demand—making each visit a bit of a game and adding a playful twist to your pint. This concept has helped Vapour carve out a niche in the competitive Gurgaon brewery scene.

The pub features a cosy lounge seating, a well-stocked bar, and a menu that spans North Indian, Mughlai, Chinese, and Continental fare. The beer selection includes their signature wheat beer and other seasonal brews, served fresh and well-paired with their finger food and mains, which I can happily report were really tasty. The staff were very courteous and attentive and can recommend it for an engaging stop for anyone exploring Gurgaon's craft beer circuit.

Sector 47
Brewocrat Brewery Skybar & Kitchen
Brewocrat Brewery Skybar & Kitchen is a stylish rooftop brewpub that combines craft beer with a vibrant, upscale dining experience. With both indoor and outdoor seating, I found that the venue was relaxed, but with a lively atmosphere. The terrace seating seemed especially popular, providing a breezy, open-air vibe that pairs beautifully with a chilled pint and good company.
The beer here is brewed fresh and served with flair. Their wheat beer and lager are particularly well-received, and the bar also offers a range of cocktails and mocktails for those looking to mix things up. The food menu is eclectic, featuring Mediterranean platters, North Indian favourites like dal makhani and tandoori pizza.
Sector 28
Downtown Galleria
Downtown Galleria is a stylish brewery in Gurgaon with a sleek, modern interior and a welcoming ambiance. The venue is known for its freshly brewed beers—especially the wheat beer and dark lager—which are served alongside dishes from an enticing menu.

Downtown Galleria seemed to me perfect for both a quiet casual draught beer in Gurgaon or a full dinner with friends. It's a great example of how the Gurgaon brewery scene continues to evolve beyond the usual hotspots, bringing craft beer culture into more residential and business-focused areas.
Nowhere Terrace BrewPub Café
Nowhere Terrace BrewPub Café, located just across the road from Downtown Galleria, is a gem that blends craft beer, eclectic cuisine, and a laid-back yet stylish ambiance. Perched atop Cross Point Mall, it offers both indoor and terrace seating, making it a great spot for everything from sunny brunches to breezy evening hangouts. The décor is cozy and modern, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that invites you to linger – and linger I did!

The beer menu features freshly brewed options like wheat beer, Indian Pale Ale, and mango flavoured blends. The food is equally diverse, but I just stuck with the beer that evening.

Sector 66
Reflex Bar Brewery & Dining
Reflex Bar Brewery & Dining, located in the M3M International Financial Centre, is maybe Gurgaon 's most upscale and visually striking brewery in Gurgaon. With its sleek design, ambient lighting (which unfortunately made it difficult to capture through my camera!), and spacious layout, Reflex offers a luxurious take on the craft beer experience. It's not just a bar—it's seemed to me that it was a lifestyle venue where design, dining, and live music come together, creating a vibrant and immersive atmosphere.

The Gurgaon brewery boasts an impressive lineup of house-brewed beers, including a Vienna Lager, Belgian-style Wit, Hefeweizen, Belgian Strong Ale, and the standout Cryo Citra IPA, which features citrusy and tropical fruit notes with a smooth, slightly sweet finish and a bold aroma of grapefruit, passionfruit, and mango. I'm salivating just remembering them!
Tailor-Made Top Tip:
Molecule IFC is a brewpub on the top level of the same building as Reflex. Although I didn't get the chance to visit, this is another microbrewery that should be added to your Gurgaon itinerary.
Ambience Mall, Gurugram
The Beer Café
While The Beer Café doesn't brew its own beer, it does provide a very welcome break from the intensive retail therapy on offer at the Ambience Mall. The Beer Café is part of India's largest chain of beer-focused cafés, and this particular outlet lives up to the brand's reputation for casual, beer-forward dining with a lively twist. Located on Level 4 of the mall, it offers a spacious, well-lit setting with vintage décor, live sports screenings, and a relaxed vibe that makes it ideal for both quick pit stops and long, chatty evenings.
The Beer Café features an extensive selection of domestic and international labels on tap and in bottles, including popular choices like Bira, Kingfisher, and Hoegaarden, ensuring you can enjoy quality draught beer in Gurgaon even while shopping.
Tailor-Made Top Tip:
The food menu is equally diverse, with North Indian and Italian dishes, and I enjoyed some mouth-watering fish fillets to complement the beer.

Delhi's Brewpubs
Fort City (Hauz Khas)
While this blog post focuses on Gurgaon's microbrewery scene, Fort City Brewing earns a special mention as a nearby gem that's well worth the short car journey (well, short by Delhi's busy traffic standards!). It's a great way to round off your exploration of North India's evolving craft beer culture with a taste of Delhi's finest.

Fort City Brewing is located in the heart of Hauz Khas Market and is a standout destination for craft beer lovers and a worthy addition to any brewpub itinerary—even if it means venturing beyond Gurgaon. This award-winning microbrewery is known for its innovative brewing techniques and bold flavours, offering a rotating selection of beers that range from hoppy American-style IPAs to exotic limited-edition brews made with locally sourced ingredients. Favourites include the Hazy IPA and the intriguingly named Rakshas, both praised for their depth and character. The ambiance is equally impressive. Spread across two floors with rooftop seating, Fort City blends industrial chic with comfortable charm.
Tailor-Made Top Tip:
Getting there from Gurgaon is straightforward: take the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro from HUDA City Centre to Hauz Khas station. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the microbrewery, located at E-17, Hauz Khas Market Lane.
Brew House by Drool (Dwarka)
I'll make just one more Delhi recommendation (I think I need to go back soon and 'research' the rest of Delhi's brewpub for a separate blog post!) and that is Brew House by Drool. Located in Sector 13, Dwarka, it is a lively brewpub that brings together craft beer, global cuisine, and a vibrant party atmosphere. With a spacious layout, dance floor, and live sports screenings, it's designed for those who enjoy their beer with a side of energy and entertainment. The venue also offers a full bar and a diverse menu that includes North Indian, Italian, Continental, Oriental, and salads.

Now, I have a confession to make – I didn't actually get to try any of their beer! Rather, I had to enjoy my excellent lunch with only a glass of lassi. I arrived at the microbrewery on the day of a local Delhi election, and it turns out that selling alcohol is banned while the polling stations are open. An interesting idea and I sometimes wonder if this is why we elect the UK politicians that we get, because of too much alcohol being drunk on polling day!
Tailor-Made Top Tip:
Getting there from Gurgaon is quite straightforward. You can take the Delhi Metro Blue Line from Dwarka Sector 21 (which connects easily from Gurgaon via HUDA City Centre and interchange at Rajiv Chowk) to Dwarka Sector 13. The brewpub is conveniently located right under the Sector 13 metro station, making it easily accessible for a spontaneous evening out or a planned gathering.
Quick Questions Answered

What is the best brewpub in Gurgaon? For an overall experience with great bear, my favourite was probably Brewocrat Brewery Skybar & Kitchen.
What is the best beer in Gurgaon? This is a tough one to narrow down! I can honestly say that I enjoyed all the beers I tried. The two most interesting and complex beers I tasted, however, were the Dubbel at Quaff and the Chai Stout at Bira 91.
What is a microbrewery? Microbreweries are a small-scale brewery that produces limited quantities of beer—typically less than 15,000 barrels per year. Because of the limited quantities, Microbreweries tend only to supply local outlets and sometimes have their own taproom.
What is a brewpub? Brewpubs brew beer on-site, for in-house service, serving it directly to customers alongside food.
Conclusion
After exploring Gurgaon's thriving craft beer scene, I can confidently say that this city has established itself as one of India's premier destinations for beer enthusiasts. From the bustling energy of Cyber Hub's corporate crowd unwinding over perfectly crafted IPAs to the intimate charm of Sector 24's hidden gems, Gurgaon offers a brewery experience for every type of traveller and beer lover.
What strikes me most about this city's craft beer revolution is its authenticity—these aren't just trendy venues copying international concepts, but genuine expressions of India's evolving drinking culture. Whether you're seeking the theatrical pricing games at Vapour Bar Exchange, the botanical whimsy of Drunken Botanist, or the rooftop sophistication of Brewocrat, each venue tells its own story while contributing to Gurgaon's reputation as a world-class beer destination. The city has proven that great craft beer isn't just about the brewing—it's about creating spaces where people can connect, unwind, and discover something new, one perfectly poured pint at a time.

Where to Stay in Gurgaon
If you're heading to Gurgaon for its brewpub scene, you're in luck—this city blends upscale hospitality with a side of fresh craft beer. Two standout hotels that offer premium accommodation are the Radisson Hotel Gurugram Sohna Road City Center (close to the Vatika Business Park brewpubs) and the Crowne Plaza Grugaon, an IHG Hotel (which is just a few minutes’ walk from the brewpubs in Sector 29).
